Jeff Fisher ripped into Lane Kiffin over the weekend after the new USC coach managed to poach the Titans’ RB coach, Kennedy Pola.  It seems there’s a great deal of money for Pola and a walk-on roster spot for his son in the deal.  Problem is, his contract with the Titans states that he needs written permission before he can even entertain another job.  So Fisher is pissed.  And he must be really pissed, because now he’s suing his former college for maliciously interfering in a contract situation.  Yikes.

Anyone remember an NFL team ever suing a college team before?  Has this ever happened?  I don’t think it has.

I doubt it’ll go anywhere, but maybe it will.  Seems strange that the Titans would sue if they didn’t think they could win.  But since all this looks like an overblown way to take a stand on principle or prove a point, maybe they won’t win.  Maybe it’s just the symbolism of it all.

Either way, I figure an NFL team suing a college one is probably worth some points… 90 to be exact.

Oh, and Lane Kiffin is a weasel and a snake, with virtually no more head coaching success than I have.

Am I alone in thinking that’s a strangely dangerous world for a professional football player to get involved in?  Was this part of some drug-kingpin-retirement-plan?  How do you play for the Green Bay Packers and transport cocaine on the side?  It’s kind of mind-blowing.

Regardless… the league isn’t waiting for the legal situation to unfold before making their move… and their move is about the strongest one they have in the arsenal:  an indefinite suspension.  He might be back next week (doubtful) and he might not be back until 2012 or something.  That’s kind of the definition of “indefinite.”

That’s worth 80 points though, to those of you who picked him.  I wonder… who’s transporting the cocaine and marijuana to the seedy underbelly of Green Bay, Wisconsin these days?

Ganther has been a backup RB for a few years in the league, and has largely stayed out of trouble.  Until he got to that hotbed of misbehavior known as Seattle.  Between the Lendale White release, the Golden Tate donut grab, and this… Seattle is an early front runner for most-misbehaved roster of the 2010 season.

DUI’s are all too common in the modern NFL (and in society in general).  It’s too bad millionaires are too stupid to call a cab.  Because that would seem to be a pretty easy solution to this problem.

But seriously… have you ever had codeine cough syrup?  I had it once, when I had some serious pneumonia, and it was amazing.  One sip… and five minutes later you’re surrounded by unicorns and care bears.

Anyway, I neglected to put JaMarcus on the Fantasy UnSports available players list.  That means none of you have him on your roster.  But I can’t let a good “arrested for purple drank” story go by without awarding some points.  So… I’ve added him to the “Not Currently On Roster” team this morning.  And tomorrow morning I will award 95 points for this arrest. That means you all have 24 hours to go add him to your roster if you want those points.  This will be the easiest 95 points you ever earn in this league.

Keep in mind… as he is not likely to sign with an NFL team, you’ll likely not get any more points out of him the rest of the season… so use that waiver move wisely.

Hey, if you were Chris Simms, you’d drive while stoned too.  He’s been a backup QB and journeyman since his big spleen injury.  And now he’s a backup to Vince Young–that’d make anyone turn to drugs, I’d think.

Anyway, drug arrests are worth 80 points.  And this is certain to be followed by some kind of suspension from the league, I would imagine.

Not just any dude, mind you… but one of Vick’s co-defendants from the dog fighting thing.  Oh, and he was shot outside the club after a confrontation with Vick.

Wonderful.  Any chance Marvin Harrison was at this party?

Vick will almost certainly be summoned to the commissioner’s office to discuss this latest round of bad judgment and poor friend-choosing.  He might even get fined or suspended.  After all, there are some legal ramifications of being on probation and then being around your former co-defendants that you were ordered not to associate with.  Oh, man, this could get good for our thing, with a ton of possible points on the horizon for Vick-owners.  Might want to consider picking him up before the July 1 start date.

Did they stop doing that rookie symposium thing where they warn all the new kids about their behavior?  Sheesh.

At least, in Morgan’s defense, there don’t appear to be any drugs or alcohol involved.  Just a suspended license.  And speeding.  Not smart, but not a sign of a hooligan-in-the-making either.  This would qualify for points if our scoring had started already–scoring starts July 1st!

We don’t typically get a chance to see actual video of the event in question.

But this time, Vince Young was kind enough to have a scuffle at a strip club that had security video cameras.  And sure enough, those cameras captured everything.

I have no idea how a piece of video goes from the strip club office to the local news channel, but once it hits the news channel it also hits YouTube.
