The Panthers’ Dante Wesley, whose big hit caused an ejection (and a PQE) yesterday has now been suspended for one game for said hit.
Man, that was fast. Guess having your vicious hit as a featured article on Yahoo’s home page will get the league’s attention. Either that or they were on to you the moment you hit that guy. Either way, enjoy your game off, buddy.
Wesley owners and Panthers owners rejoice in the 45 Points his thuggery earned you today.

Sorry for the mass-points-posting this morning… but I have tons to do. I’ll get an updated Leaderboard up, hopefully later today. For now, here are the latest PQEs:
Steelers Jeff Reed arrested for public intoxication. Awesome. 55 Points
Seahawks Lofa Tatupu is out for the rest of the season. Bummer. 60 Points
Bengals Antwan Odom out for the season. Sucks for him. 60 Points
Panthers Dante Wesley ejected for brutal hit on fair catch. Bad boy. 50 Points
Jets’ Ihedigbo ejected for throwing a punch. UFC fan, I guess. 50 Points.
That’s all for now, though I...

Ray Lewis has had a curious career. One moment he’s considered the best defensive player in the league, the next someone’s calling him a dirty player. Both are probably true.
Anyway, he took out Ochocinco last week, well after the ball was passed, and went for the head. The league sort of thinks that’s a no-no. So now Lewis has been fined a whopping $25,000. I say “whopping” because it’s the kind of fine that would lead someone like me to bankruptcy. Lewis can handle it without breaking a sweat. Fines in the NFL are stupid, because it’s equivalent...

Kyle Vanden Bosch has been fined for hitting Peyton Manning. Actually, he was fined for hitting Manning’s knee. I don’t think they’ve yet completely outlawed hitting quaterbacks, but it feels like we’re headed that direction, doesn’t it.
Anyway, Vanden Bosch was fined $5,000 today for a hit he was penalized for during last Sunday night’s game with the Colts. He said he’s not sure what he could have done differently, and I can totally see that. It was mostly a momentum thing.
I have no idea how they’re going to resolve this issue, because...

The Titans were so upset to be losing to Jacksonville last week that they decided to rack up $22,500 in fines.
Wow.
If you can’t beat ‘em… beat ‘em.
Tony Brown got $10,000 in fines for a helmet-to-helmet hit. Javon Haye got $5,000 for a facemask violation, and Donnie Nickey got $7,500 for a horse-collar tackle.
So, if you have the Titans, Brown, Haye, or Nickey on your roster… you’re 30 points richer.
If the Titans keep losing, how much in fines do you think they’ll be earning by week 9 or 10? I’m guessing $100,000 easy.
