We don’t get enough chances here at Fantasy UnSports to give out points for positive things–hey, I can only award points for what NFL players do, whether their actions are good or bad–so it’s nice to see a story like this come along.
Steve McNair, tragically killed in July, used to take his sons to an annual father-son breakfast at a local restaurant. Three active NFL players have decided to donate their brains to science when they die. They are Matt Birk, Lofa Tatupu, & Sean Morey.
Bravo, good sirs.
Several former players have agreed to the same thing, but these three are the first active players. The goal is related to concussion research, as I understand it (among other things). So far, reanimation is not one of the intended purposes of the Brain Donation Program, but we can always hope, right? I for one would relish the chance to see a zombie Lofa Tatupu rampaging around the NFL in 2065.
