For now… while I’m still operating as low-tech as possible, I’ll be releasing a spreadsheet with everyone’s fantasy unsports team name, their roster, and their point total. That’ll probably happen weekly.

However, if things keep progressing the way they have been the last 24 hours, I’ll be hiring a programmer to help automate some of this stuff, and that may or may not create a better method for players to check their scores. I’ll definitely keep you guys in the loop on that stuff, though.

Okay, got the email notification squared away. Wouldn’t you know it was a simple checkbox I forgot to check. Oh well.

New users from this point on will receive their sign-up information in the confirmation email.

On Sunday, Sept. 6th, I’ll release the current full list of teams and who they picked… you can use that for your records.

Just a quick heads-up: I signed up, and got a confirmation e-mail, but the confirmation e-mail was completely blank. I’m not sure what was supposed to be in that e-mail, but whatever it was, it wasn’t there. You may want to check out that automated e-mail system. Should I be worried that my entry isn’t going to get processed?

Hi Musiccitymiracle… Thanks for your questions.

There aren’t currently any plans to have any kind of login or profile page for you to see your roster. In addition to the email you should have received when you signed up… we’ll be sending occasional email updates containing your point totals and rosters, and we’ll be posting those on the site as well so you can see where you rank against your opponents.

We’re a bit more lo-fi this innaugural season than we wish we were… but plans to make future seasons more automated and feature-rich are already underway.

How do we monitor our progress? Where will the scores be posted? Will we have a profile site listing our players that we can connect to?

Yeah, I would probably say wait until you know what you want your roster to be, and then sign up. The sign-up form contains the “choose your roster” portion.

You could theoretically sign up now without picking rosters… but then you’d have to use roster moves (by emailing me) to add your players… and I’d hate to see you waste a decent roster move on just picking players.

Thanks for the quick reply. Glad you liked the coaching idea. I think you have a fun premise here. I’d like to sign up but generally like to do some research first, but it seems like i can only sign up when i’m ready to make my picks. Is it possible to sign up and then make my picks later as we move closer to the deadline? thanks!

Satten… the prizes are still being worked out. Right now, I’m thinking a gaming console for first place, like a Wii or an Xbox 360.

Hadn’t gotten to working out prizes for second and third place yet… but probably a small gift card.

The game is absolutely free to play and will always remain that way.

Coaches is an interesting idea… and I think yes.. we’ll allow coaches. I’ll amend the site’s rules and FAQ to reflect that. Good idea. We’ll skip agents for now, though. A bit too obscure.

So… NFL Players… and coaches. And it’s free. And once you sign up, you have little-to-no maintenance… so I’d encourage you to sign up if you’re even remotely interested.
