- On the Points page of this website, you can find a wicked-long list of Infractions—things an NFL player or coach can do in real life that will earn you points if you have them on your Fantasy UnSports roster.
- The Fantasy UnSports game is free to play. We are likely to add a small upgrade option to add more waiver moves (everyone starts with 10), but the base game is free and will stay that way. Sweet.
- Each player chooses 2 NFL franchises, and 10 individual players. You can also choose coaches in your individual selections. Every time a player on your roster–or on the roster of one of your two whole team selections–performs an Infraction, you earn the points associated with that qualifying event. The player with the most points at the end of the Fantasy UnSports season is the winner. If you should happen to have a franchise AND a player from that franchise also on your roster, you will NOT earn double points when that player commits an Infraction. The system will only give you the points for an Infraction once.
- The Fantasy UnSports season begins on July 1st, 2010 and ends at 12 midnight following the 2011 Super Bowl. Players are welcome to join at any time, including in the middle of the season. Since some of the Infractions can be worth tons of points, a late-joiner can catch up pretty quickly.
- Players are allowed up to 10 waiver moves on individual players for the season. There will likely be an option added where you can purchase (for a couple dollars) a block of extra waiver moves. This is solely to give me a tiny stream of revenue to hopefully help purchase killer prizes.
- Final decision on what does and does not constitute Infraction—as well as what that Infraction’s point value will be—rests with the commissioner–me.
- Any player who wishes to do so may suggest a new qualifying event to be added to the list.
- Players are encouraged to email links to credible news sources and stories they feel demonstrate or signify that a new qualifying event has occurred–I am but one man… I’m not likely to catch everything.
- Players’ scores are kept automatically, and in real time as I add new Infractions into the system.
- The commissioner will post regular updates in the traditional blog fashion, detailing new qualifying events or discussing a new item for business… possibly listing the leading teams… so be sure to check back often for the latest news–consider signing up for our RSS feed to help keep you in the know.
- As stated on our Disclaimer page, players are prohibited from actively influencing the game by doing stupid things like attacking NFL players and such. Don’t do that stuff. It’s illegal and you’ll be disqualified anyway.
